How to Apply for NYSC Relocation on Health or Marital Grounds

Health and marital circumstances are among the reasons corps members commonly raise when seeking relocation. A strong application is based on genuine circumstances and documents that NYSC can verify.

Submitting a request does not guarantee approval, so corps members should continue to follow their current deployment instructions until an official decision is issued.

Relocation on Health Grounds

A health based request should explain why the current deployment creates a serious medical difficulty and should be supported by credible medical evidence. NYSC may require verification or further assessment.

  • Use genuine medical documents
  • Make sure the condition and treatment need are clearly described
  • Keep copies of every document submitted
  • Follow any request for additional assessment

Relocation on Marital Grounds

Married female prospective corps members are asked during registration to upload marriage documents, evidence of change of name and information connected with the husband place of domicile. These records can also be relevant when NYSC considers deployment or relocation connected with marriage.

  • Marriage certificate
  • Evidence of change of name where applicable
  • Evidence connected with spouse residence or domicile
  • Other documents requested by NYSC

How to Submit the Request

Use the official relocation process available at your stage of service. This may involve camp officials, the state secretariat and the online dashboard.

Wait for the Decision

Do not travel to a preferred state and assume you have been relocated. Wait for the official approval and follow the reporting instructions attached to it.

Avoid Fake Documents

A false medical report or false marriage evidence can create serious disciplinary and legal problems. Use only genuine records.

Prepare Evidence, Not Promises

Relocation decisions are based on the applicable rules and the evidence submitted. No agent can guarantee approval.

If you need help understanding the process, use the appropriate NYSC office or official support channel.

Important: NYSC schedules, portal procedures, fees, allowances and document requirements can change. For 2027, confirm the latest information on the official NYSC website and portal before taking action.
